Dubai reveals its master construction plan for 2040 which presents the city’s outlook for 2040.i.e, how will Dubai look like in 2040. The plan showcases various projects like; increasing the space for public beaches by 400% and reserving the 60% of Dubai’s land for nature’s reserves. Urban areas will also get a revamp and there will be further development of infrastructures.

This master construction plan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also has the capacity to hold a population of 6 million which is currently 3 million in Dubai. The plan puts specific emphasis on the revamping of the city’s major urban centres like; Bur Dubai, Deira, Dubai Marina and JBR. The renovation of these major urban centres is supposed to uplift the economic growth, create job opportunities, attract foreign investment and offer a vast variety of facilities to the citizens.

Furthermore, The Expo 2020 and Dubai Silicon Oasis are also planned to be developed and renovated in the future.

The plan also highlights the importance of public spaces like beaches and of nature reserves. Therefore, the plan displays the mission to increase these coveted city spots by 2040.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated on Saurday, 13th March, “We launched Dubai 2040 Urban Master plan with aims to make Dubai the world’s best city to live in. Areas dedicated to economic and recreational activities will double; our public beach areas will increase by 400% over the next 20 years and 60% of Dubai’s area will be for nature’s reserves.”

He further stated that the new urban plan which aimed to redesign and refurbish Dubai’s life, comes with a promise of providing best quality of life and paving way for the next major residential and economics developments in the city.

Infrastructures are also planned to be redesigned altogether. The plan states a reconstruct of commercial and public transport facilities and aims to bring them in proximity so the citizens will save time and energy while going to their work places. This is in result of the analysis which informed that by 2040, 55% of the people in Dubai will want to live as close as 800 meters of their public transport facility.

Hotels and Tourist spots will also increase by 134% whereas land for commercial space will see an increase of 168 sq. km overall. A 25% increase is set to be seen in healthcare and educational facilities. The plan also integrates the Hatta Development Plan which focuses on Hatta’s natural and tourist spots solely for the environment’s protection.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed called this master plan a one step forward in enhancing the community’s happiness and wellbeing.
