Dubai Creek Harbor – City of Tomorrow’s Families
Heretofore known famously as The Lagoon, Dubai Creek Harbor is a new-age mega joint venture between Emaar Properties and a government-owned real estate developer Dubai Holdings. Besides being already known prominently as the home to the next tallest building in the world i.e. The Dubai Creek Tower, this project has been tagged and marketed by property experts as a ‘city for tomorrow’s families’, featuring state-of-the-art technology, integrated transportation systems, as well as environmentally-sustainable ecosystems. It will also feature a dedicated pedestrian retail district as well as schools, healthcare facilities, a vast variety of leisure choices to choose from and luscious green open parks.
Dubai Creek Harbor – Location
The Dubai Creek Harbor is located along the Ras Al Khor Road, next to the National Wildlife Sanctuary and engulfs a vast land area of around 550 hectares. The Dubai Creek Harbour is centrally located making it easily accessible from most part of the old Dubai – Bur Dubai and Deira and new Dubai City – Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, and the DIFC. From the heart of the Dubai Creek Harbour, Downtown Dubai and Business Bay are just situated at a fifteen minutes drive. This may go up to about twenty minutes when you factor in traffic congestion, but that is pretty much all it would take for you to get there.
Similarly, even accessing other parts of the world wouldn’t be a problem for Dubai Creek Harbour residents as the Dubai International Airport is a ten-minute drive from the community.
The Dubai Creek Harbour, as mentioned previously, is also home to the Dubai Creek Tower which is due to trump the Burj Khalifa by 100 meters. The city also boasts of adequate and well-networked public transport system – both water and land-based.
Dubai Creek Harbour – Master Plan
The Dubai Creek Harbour features a perfect blend of nature and modernity producing a truly remarkable environment that is ideal for business, leisure and family living. The Dubai Creek Harbour is being developed as a mixed-use community estimated to cost over AED 3.64 billion and would be habitable by 2020. However, the development of the community is billed to continue beyond 2020 with the developers. Emaar Properties promises to deliver at least 2,000 residential apartments annually in the project’s first five years, a promise which the developer has so far lived up to by delivering several residential towers.
At the core of the community is the Dubai Creek Tower projected to be 928 meters in height at completion. This wonder of the modern world draws architectural inspiration from the minaret and budding lily flower, signifying the developers’ commitment to blending nature, culture and urban living. The observation decks at the oval-shaped pinnacle would offer tourists and visitors a 360-degree panoramic view of the old and new Dubai city.
So far, the foundation work for the tower had been completed and work is currently ongoing for the giant-size anchorages which form the major structural support for the tower.
